Stocks closed lower on Friday, but logged a fifth straight weekly gain, and posted the best month in four years. The S&P 500 finished the week up .2%, and finished October up 8.3%.


This week data will be released on manufacturing, construction spending, the trade deficit, the service sector and the jobs report.

The Atlanta Fed’s GDPNow final estimate for third quarter growth increased to 1.1% following data on net exports in the advanced report on international trade. The first forecast for the fourth quarter is 2.5%.

Acres of pumpkins harvested in the U.S. in 2013, with a total estimated production value of $149.9 million.
